Closely follow FastSteps 2
through 5 from your
FastSteps Guide.
Use only Qualigen
recommended pipette tips.
The tips are available
through your local
distributor or Qualigen.
Be sure that the pipette
operates smoothly and
does not stick.
It is very important that
the tip is properly seated
on the pipette. If it is not,
there is a high likely hood
of short sampling which
will directly affect
calibration results.
Closely follow FastSteps 6
through 10 from your
FastSteps Guide.
Use serum, plasma,
calibrators or controls
only.
Always wear gloves when
handling samples.
It is very important that
the pipette tip is firmly
placed in the injection
port. If any sample leaking
is detected, immediately
dispose of the FastPack
®
IP
and begin again with a new
FastPack
®
IP and sample.

IP Vitamin D Users ONLY! Sample Pretreatment
Eject the calibrator sample
into the pre-treatment
buffer tube by pressing
down on the pipette
plunger to the first stop.
Replace the screw cap
tightly onto the buffer
tube.
Each patient sample,
calibrator or control must
be thoroughly mixed with
the FastPack
®
Pre-
treatment buffer before
running a FastPack
®
IP
Vitamin D assay.
Invert the buffer tube at
least 3 times to thoroughly
mix together the sample
and buffer. The act of
mixing the sample and
buffer releases the vitamin
D present, therefore
making it available for the
assay.
Follow the FastSteps for
Vitamin D Guide steps 9
and 10 to complete sample
delivery to the FastPack
®
IP.
