Implementationdirectconnectiontobattery
Thepowercablesuppliedwithyourproductmay
beconnecteddirectlytothevessel'sbattery,viaa
suitablyratedfuseorbreaker.
ThepowercablesuppliedwithyourproductmayNOT
includeaseparatedrainwire.Ifthisisthecase,only
thepowercable’sredandblackwiresneedtobe
connected.
IfthesuppliedpowercableisNOTfittedwithaninline
fuse,youMUSTfitasuitablyratedfuseorbreaker
betweentheredwireandthebattery’spositive
terminal.
Refertotheinlinefuseratingsprovidedinthe
product’sdocumentation.
Ifyouneedtoextendthelengthofthepowercable
suppliedwithyourproduct,ensureyouobservethe
dedicated
Power cable extensions
adviceprovidedin
theproduct’sdocumentation.

BatteryconnectionscenarioA:suitablefora
vesselwithacommonRFgroundpoint.In
thisscenario,ifyourproduct’spowercableis
suppliedwithaseparatedrainwirethenitshould
beconnectedtothevessel’scommonground
point.

BatteryconnectionscenarioB:suitablefor
avesselwithoutacommongroundingpoint.
Inthiscase,ifyourproduct’spowercableis
suppliedwithaseparatedrainwirethenitshould
beconnecteddirectlytothebattery’snegative
terminal.
Implementationconnectiontodistributionpanel
Alternatively,thesuppliedpowercablemaybe
connectedtoasuitablebreakerorswitchonthe
vessel'sdistributionpanelorfactory-fittedpower
distributionpoint.
Thedistributionpointshouldbefedfromthevessel’s
primarypowersourceby8AWG(8.36mm
2
)cable.
Ideally,allequipmentshouldbewiredtoindividual
suitably-ratedthermalbreakersorfuses,with
appropriatecircuitprotection.Wherethisisnot
possibleandmorethan1itemofequipmentsharesa
breaker,useindividualin-linefusesforeachpower
circuittoprovidethenecessaryprotection.
