Cancel my distress alert of <DATE>, <TIME>,

6.Repeatthebroadcastdescribedinstep5.
Receivingadistresscall
ItisexpectedthatonlyaCoastRadioStation(CRS)will
acknowledgeDSCdistresscallsandwillactasthe
coordinatorfortherescueoperation.
Whenadistresscallisreceivedanalarmissoundedat
fullvolumeandtheLCDdisplaysinformationrelating
tothedistress.
IftheAutochannelchangefunctionisenabled;10
secondsafterreceiptofadistresscalltheradiowill
automaticallyre-tunetochannel16.Otherwisetheuser
ispromptedtochangechannelmanually.
Thedetailsofthedistresscallarerecordedinthe
distresslogandtheenvelopeiconwillflashtoletyou
knowamessagehasbeenreceived.Whenconnected
toaRaymarine
®
multifunctiondisplay(MFD)theposition
datafromthedistresscallcanalsobedisplayedinthe
Chartapplication.
Whenthereceiveddistresscallisacknowledgedbythe
CRSorbyanotherstationtheradiowillresumenormal
operation.
Ignoringadistresscall
Y oucanignoreadistresscallbymutingthealarmand
cancellingthedistresscallscreen.
Ifyourradioisalreadytunedtotheprioritychannelthen
the
Ignoreoptionwillnotbeavailable.
Withanincomingdistresscalldisplayed.

Ignorefromtheoptionsdisplayed.
Normaloperationisresumed.
Acknowledgingadistresscall
Distresscallsmustonlybeacknowledgedifthecall
continueswithoutacknowledgementfromaCRS,you
arecloseenoughtothedistressedvesseltobeof
assistanceandarepreparedtorelaythedistresstoa
CRSbyanymeanspossible.ClassDDSCradiosare
forbiddenfromautomaticallyacknowledgingdistress
calls.Acknowledgementmustonlybemadebyvoice
messageonchannel16.
Afterreceivingadistresscallthathasgoneunanswered:
1.Switchtochannel16tolistenforthedistressvoice
message.
2.WaitfortheCRStoacknowledgethecall.
3.Ifthedistresscallisnotacknowledgedbyanother
stationthenacknowledgethecallasfollows:
