7.1Watchmodes
Watchmodemonitorsprioritychannelsandthecurrently
selectedchannel.
Thereare2typesofwatchmode;DualwatchandTriple
watchorTriwatch.
•Dualwatch—Thismodemonitorsprioritychannel16
andthecurrentlyselectedchannel.
•TriplewatchorTriwatchThismodemonitorspriority
channel16,thesecondprioritychannel(Channel
9(default))andthecurrentlyselectedchannel.The
secondprioritychannelcanalsobesettoauser
definedchannel.
Whentheradiodetectsatransmission,Watchmodeis
suspendeduntilthetransmissionends;watchmodewill
thenrecommence.
Usingwatchmodes
FromtheWatchModemenu:
Menu>WatchMode.
1.SelectDualWatchorTripleWatchasrequired.
TheradioisnowinWatchmode.
2.Select2ndprioritychanneltoselectadifferent
secondprioritychannelforTripleWatch.
3.DuringWatchmode,pressthe
Backbuttonatany
timetoendtheWatchmodeandresumenormal
operation.
7.2ScanMode
Scanmodeenablesautomaticsearchingforchannels
thatarecurrentlybroadcasting.
Scanmodewillsearchthroughavailablechannels
andstopwhenitfindsachannelthatiscurrently
broadcasting.Ifthebroadcaststopsorislostformore
than5secondsthenthescanwillresume.
Channelscanbetemporarilyremovedfromanactive
scan,andthedirectionofscancanalsobechanged.
Whenthescanreachesthelastchannelinthebandthe
scancycleisrepeated.
Thefollowingscansoptionsareavailable:

AllChannels—Allchannelsinthefrequencyband
theradioissettoarescannedinsequence.
•AllChannels+16—Allchannelsinthefrequency
bandtheradioissettoarescanned,aftereach
channelisscannedprioritychannel16isscanned.
•
SavedChannels—Onlychannelssavedtotheradio’s
memoryarescannedinsequence.
•SavedChannels+16—Onlychannelssavedtothe
radio’smemoryarescanned,aftereachchannelis
scannedprioritychannel16isscanned.
Note:Iftheweatheralertfunctionisactivated,the
weatheralertchannelisincludedinthescan.
Performingascan
Scanmodeisstartedfromthemainmenu.
FromtheScanModemenu:
Menu>ScanMode.
1.SelecttherelevantScanmode.
TheradioisnowinScanmode.
2.SelectEditSavedChannelstoselectthechannels
thatwillbescannedwhenperformingaSaved
channelscan.
3.DuringScanmode,pressthe
Backbuttonatanytime
toendtheScanmodeandresumenormaloperation.

Channel16isthededicatedprioritychannel.
Thedefaultsecondaryprioritychannelischannel09.
Thesecondprioritychannelcanbechangedifdesired.
Switchingbetweenprioritychannels
1.Pressthe
16/+buttontoswitchbetweenpriority
channels.
Settingasecondprioritychannel
Y oucanselectwhichchannelyouwanttouseasthe
secondprioritychannel.
