Operat ing hint s
ïMajor changes to the selected apparent wind angle should be made
by returning to Standby mode, changing course manually, then
reselecting Vane Mode.
ïVane mode filters the windvane output. This provides the optimum
response for off-shore conditions where genuine shifts in wind
direction occur gradually.
ïIn gusty and unsteady inshore conditions, it is best to sail a few
degrees further off the wind so that changes in apparent wind
direction can be tolerated.
ïIt is important to ensure that the amount of standing helm is
minimised by careful sail trimming and positioning of the mainsheet
traveller.
ïThe headsail and mainsail should be reefed a little early rather than
too late.
