6.2.9Setpoints
ThetwoSetpointsaredeactivatedbydefault(alarmmode).ActivatingandadjustingtheSetpointsis
accomplishedthroughsoftware.Once oneorbothSetpointsareactivatedtherelaychangesstateas
thecurrenttemperaturepassesthesetpointtemperature.
6.2.10Deadband
Deadband is a zone of flexibility around the Setpoint. The alarm does not go abnormal until the
temperatureexceedstheSetpointvaluebythenumberofsetdeadbanddegrees.Thereafter,itdoesnot
gonormaluntilthetemperatureisbelowtheSetpointbythenumberofsetdeadband degrees.The
Deadband
isfactorypresetto±CorFofSetpointvalue.Adjustingtoothervaluesisaccomplished
through software. For information on the sensor’s communication protocols, see section
9Programming Guide on page 39. The following figure is an example of the Deadband around a
Setpointtemperatureof960°C(1760°F).
