Paper Misfeed Message (Z)
The " (Z) Open Front Cover and remove the paper." error message appears when a paper misfeed occurs
inside the paper transfer unit.
• Some of this machine's internal components get very hot. For this reason, take care when removing
misfed paper. Not doing so could result in burns.
• The inside of this printer becomes very hot. Before removing paper from the area around the fusing
unit, wait until both the fusing unit and the paper transfer unit have cooled down.
1. Pull Front Cover Open Lever, and then open the front cover with both hands carefully.
If you cannot find the misfed paper, look inside the printer.
