Pollution Degree 2
Pollution Degree Definitions
Pollution Degree 1: No pollution or only dry, non-conductive pollution occurs. The
pollution has no impact on the equipment. For example, a clean room or an
air-conditioned office.
Pollution Degree 2: Normally only dry, non-conductive pollution occurs. Occasionally
a temporary conductivity caused by condensation may occur. For example, indoor
environment, laboratories, and test stations.
Pollution Degree 3: Conductive pollution or dry non-conductive pollution that
becomes conductive due to condensation occurs. For example, industrial
environment or construction sites (harsh environments).
Pollution Degree 4: Pollution that generates persistent conductivity through
conductive dust, rain, or snow. For example, outdoor areas.
