7.1 Initializing the actuator
To achieve correct position feedback, the ac-
tuator must be initialized. This is also neces-
saryafterchangingthecongurationatthe
actuator.
The actuator can be initialized at the actua-
tor itself or over the TROVIS-VIEW software.
Risk of injury due to the actuator stem ex-
tending or retracting (with form-t attach-
ment).
Directly after connecting the supply voltage,
the actuator stem can start to move.
Î Do not touch or block the actuator stem.
The process is disturbed by the movement
of the actuator stem.
Î Do not perform the initialization while
the process is running. First isolate the
plant by closing the shut-off valves.
WARNING
!
NOTICE
!
Start initialization
1. Place the function switch into the re-
quired position.
2. Switchthefunctionswitchbrieyfromits
position to the other position and back
again(seeFig.7-1).
The red LED indicates that initialization is in
progress.
The actuator automatically performs a zero
calibration as soon as the supply voltage is
applied to the L and N terminals. This is
indicated by the red LED blinking (see the
'Operation' section). This function does not
replace the initialization procedure.
Risk of malfunction due to incomplete or
incorrect start-up.
Î Start initialization
Î Complete the entire initialization proce-
dure until the red LED is no longer illumi-
nated.
The actuator is not ready to use until the ini-
tialization is completed.
