Turning the power on
When capturing images

Set the main switch to MONITOR OFF or [Õ].
MONITOR OFF: The LCD monitor is not used.
[Õ]: The LCD monitor is used.

Press the power button.
œ The power turns on, the lens extends and the
standby indicator next to the viewfinder lights.
œ If the main switch is set to [Õ], an image
appears on the LCD monitor.
When playing back images

Set the main switch to [Ô].

Press the power button.
œ The power turns on, and an image appears on
the LCD monitor.
