Actualreadout(dimensionandposition)
When this menu is selected, the display of the SIM‐P module will show the actual dimension and
positionasdetectedbythesensor.Thedisplayshowsthevalueinmillimeter sifthemeasuringunit
issettometricorininchifthemeasuringunitissettoimperial.In
bothcases,thevalueshownon
thedisplayhasonedigitafterthepoint meaningnumbersaredisplayedin1/10ofmmor1/10of
inchincrement.
TheF1keytogglesthedisplaybetweenthemetricorimperialvalueoftheanalog4‐20mAvalue
asdrivenon
theanalogoutput.This4‐20mAvalueis theoneusedontheactualanalogoutputfor
thedimensionandtheposition.Thevaluedisplayedisin1/100ofamA,inthiscase,2digitsafterthe
point(x.xx).Toreturntometricorimperialvalue,justpushF1
again.Eachtimethatyouarriveat
thismenu,the display shows thedimension and the position using metric or imperialvalues.One
needstopushtheF1toseetheequivalentanalogvalue.Thisfeatureisusefultoverifythesystem.
By using this feature, one can verify if
the value read by the controller or PLC is a valid one.The
internal hardware analog device is a 16 bit converter, so the analog output accuracy is greater
comparedtothevaluebeingdisplayedin1/100ofmA,butthedisplayedvalueisaccurateenoughto
verifythesystemconnection.
