Debouncetime(photocellfeatureonly)
Thisistheminimumamountoftimethatanobjectmuststayinthefieldofviewofthephotocellin
ordertobedetected.Onceachangeofstatehasbeendetectedbythesensor,acounterisstarted.
Ifthesensorgoesbacktoitsoriginalstatebeforethe
counterhasreachedyourselectedtimeperiod
therewillbenochangeinthestateoftheoutputsignal.Thisfeatureisthesameforobstructedstate
tonon‐obstructedstateaswellasforthenon‐obstructedstatetoobstructedstate.Thisallowsthe
usertoadjustthesensor
toignoretransientobjectssuchasflyingdebris,bark,chipsorsawdust.
Tosetupanewdebouncetime,choosethepre‐selectedvalueavailablefromthelist.Whentheright
oneisdisplayed,justmaintain theEnterbuttonforonesecondtofixthe chosendebouncetimein
memory.
The
debouncetimehasonlyaneffectonthePNPandNPNoutput,thephotocellfunctionoftheSIM‐
Pmodule.Ifthescandimensionofanobjectisgreateroftheminimumobjectdimensionparameter ,
the serial link and the analog output will reflect the dimension and the position of
this object,
regardlessofthesetdebouncetime.Infact,thescannerfunctionalwaysreactsimmediatelywithan
objectinfrontofthesensor.
Latchtime(photocellfeatureonly)
Oncethephotocellhasdetectedanobject,thedurationoftheoutputsignal(regardlessoftheobject
stillbeingdetected)canbeadjusted.Thisallows onetodeterminehowlongtheoutputwillstay“ON”
onceithasdetecteda presence.Thisvalueistheminimumtimeonly.Ifanobject
remainswithinof
thefieldofview,theoutputwillstayactivatedaslongasthe objectblocksLEDs.Theoutputpulse
valueisinmilliseconds.
Thisparametercanbechangedatanytime.Atthenextphotocellscan,theoutputsignalwillbeset
according to the new set
position.Thisadjustment is useful whenyou connect the photocell to a
device or a controller that is slower than the scan rate of the photocell. This feature allows the
controllertohavetimetoseethe output coming fromthephotocell.Thelatchtimehasaneffect
onlyforthe
photocellfunctionoftheSIM‐Pmodule.
