b) Verify the location and type of data being collected on Port 1 of the SEL-2020 by
issuing the command string MAP 1. The SEL-2020 responds with a database map of
the Port 1 data regions. This map shows that meter data are being collected in Port 1
region D1, which is associated with Port 1 Message 1. The B METER indicates that the
SEL-2020 is receiving binary, or Fast Meter, data from the SEL-251 Relay. If the
SEL-251 Relay did not have Fast Meter capability, there would be an “A” next to
METER, indicating that the data are transferred in ASCII format.
