Vehicle electronic stability control (ESC)
The ESC helps you stabilize the vehicle when
oversteer or understeer is detected. When
oversteer or understeer is detected, the system
will apply brakes to one or more wheels to
enhance the control of vehicle stability.
ESC integrates three functional modules:
anti-lock braking system (ABS), vehicle
dynamic control (VDC) and traction control
system (TCS)
Some sub-systems are also included:
Hill Start Assist Control (HAC)
Hydraulic Brake Assist (HBA)
Emergency Brake Hazard Warning (HAZ)
Hill Descent Control (HDC)
ABS
The vehicle is equipped with an Anti-lock
Braking System, which can prevent the wheels
from locking during emergency braking or
braking on a slippery road, avoiding sideslip or
drifting, and maintaining the stability of the
vehicle.
When ABS is working, you may feel the brake
pedal vibrate, and you may hear noise. This is a
normal phenomenon that ABS is pulsating fast
braking.
Warning
ABS cannot work effectively under the
following situations:
Using tires with insufficient adhesion
(such as over-wearing tires on
snow-covered roads)
The vehicle skids when driving at high
speed on slippery roads
Warning
ABS is not completely designed to shorten
the braking distance of the vehicle. Be
sure to keep a safe distance from the
vehicle driving in the following situations:
When driving on mud, gravel or snowy
roads.
When driving on pitted or uneven roads.
When driving on bumpy roads
Warning
ESC is an auxiliary system and it cannot
handle all situations or road conditions.
The driver is always responsible for
driving the vehicle safely and complying
with current laws and traffic regulations.
Do not modify the vehicle's suspension,
otherwise the ESC may not operate
normally, and the vehicle's handling
performance may be adversely affected,
which may cause accidents and personal
injury.
