Cassettes
A cassette holds up to 18 sample tubes. You must have 10 cassettes in the
Centrifuge module for processing samples.
• 8 positions are available on the scale for cassettes
• 2 buffer positions
• 4 positions available in the Hettich unit

Scale
The scale weighs sample tubes and cassettes to distribute the weight
evenly before the robot places them in the Hettich unit.
Following centrifugation, the scale weighs sample tubes and cassettes to
verify the weight of sample tubes and cassettes has not changed. A change
in weight could indicate a broken tube.
WARNING
Do not use glass tubes in the centrifuge module. Glass tubes can break,
causing physical harm to the operator and equipment. The Centrifuge
module supports only valid plastic sample tubes. See Appendix C,
Specifications.
