1 Introduction
The Centrifuge module is a component of the ADVIA® LabCell® or
ADVIA WorkCell® systems. The Centrifuge module automatically
centrifuges capped sample tubes for chemistry, immunoassay, and
coagulation tests.
The Centrifuge module operations depend on the integration of several
hardware elements in combination with the LineMaster software and
Router software. This document is intended for use with the LineMaster
software, V.4.9.
Hardware Overview
The Centrifuge module includes these hardware components:
Hettich unit
Robot assembly
•Drive unit
Robot computer
Interface computer
Sample cassettes
•Scale
Uninterruptible power supply (UPS)
You can attach a Decapper module at the Centrifuge module. However, the
Decapper runs independently of the Centrifuge module. The Centrifuge
module or attached Decapper accepts sample tubes with the following
conditions:
Capped sample tubes requiring centrifugation and decapping, or
requiring centrifugation only.
Capped sample tubes requiring decapping only.
The Centrifuge module cannot operate concurrently with an existing
Centrifuge/Decapper module.
