1. Attach the compression plate (1/Fig. 23 / p. 41) if you have not already done so.
2. Check that the compression plate cannot be removed without pressing the compres-
sion plate release button (2/Fig. 23 / p. 41).
3. Check the function of the knobs for manual compression/decompression
(3/Fig. 23 / p. 41).
4. Place a piece of soft material on the object table, for example a rolled up towel or a
piece of foam rubber(4/Fig. 23 / p. 41).
5. Check the function of the foot switch for motorized compression/decompression
(1/2/Fig. 24 / p. 41).

6. Press the foot switch for motorized decompression to move the compression plate up-
wards while at the same time pressing the compression plate in the opposite direction
by hand.
The upward movement of the compression plate should now stop (safety switch).
