2.1 Visual inspection
SIM Labels
• Certification labels, labels with the model and serial numbers and a ”WARNING” label
are attached to the unit. The label locations are indicated in the Instructions for Use.
• Check that all the labels are legible and accessible to view.
PMP Customer documentation
2.1.1 Damage
Check the following parts for cracks and other damage. Repair or replace any damaged
parts.
SIM Covers
SIM Cassette compartment
SIM Control and display panel
SIM Exposure release cable
SIM Single tank generator
SIM Collimator
• Make sure that neither the single tank generator nor the collimator have any mechani-
cal damage that could affect radiation protection.
SIM DAP (optional)
• Make sure there are no scratches on the DAP ionization chamber. Make sure the cable
and the connector are intact. Make sure the DAP display is intact as well.
• Check that the following documents are filed on site:
- Instructions for Use
- User statements and a copy of FDA form FD 2579; completed and signed by as-
sembler at the time of installation
- Periodic maintenance records / checks / protocol
- Assembler reports after major repairs
