Operating the circuit-breaker panel

Fig. 75: Position indicator on the circuit-breaker, closed
(circuit-breaker 3AE5 as an example)
The position indicator on the circuit-breaker changes from 0 position to I position.
The operations counter is increased by 1. The circuit-breaker is closed.
10.11 Opening the circuit-breaker electrically
Conflicting operation
Operating the circuit-breaker electrically is possible locally or from a central
control. The requirement of setting the panel to either local or remote control
prevents operating the panel locally and centrally at the same time.
Depending on the intended operating mode, set the panel to either local or
remote control (for example by switching the local-remote switch).
Unexpected switching noise and vibration
Operating the circuit-breaker discharges and/or charges the spring energy store
abruptly. This causes a short loud noise and low vibration.
Expect switching noise and low vibration from inside the circuit-breaker.
The opening spring is charged during the closing operation.
