Updating firmware of a communications processor (CP)
This section applies to Ethernet CP 443-1, PROFIBUS CP 443-5 Extended, and
PtP CP 341.
The requirements and steps are described in the manual titled "SIMATIC Process Control
System PCS 7 – Service Support and Diagnostics" for the respective PCS 7 version.
NOTICE
Only perform a firmware update during operation if no redundancy faults are present, i.e.
the REDF LED is not lit, and you have ensured that both IMs of all the connected redundant
stations (e.g. ET 200M) are operating correctly. Otherwise, process mode may be
disrupted.
