areas. If you have used the device outside the conditions for hazardous areas, make all Ex
markings unrecognizable on the nameplate.

Loss of the safety of the device with type of protection "Intrinsic safety Ex i" or "Energy
limited Ex nL"
If the device has already been operated in non-intrinsically safe circuits or the information on
the electrical speci󹪝cations has been ignored, the safety of the device is no longer ensured for
use in hazardous areas. There is a danger of explosion.
• Connect the device in type of protection Intrinsic safety solely to an intrinsically safe circuit.
• Connect the device in type of protection Energy limited to an energy limited or intrinsically
safe circuit of category 3G.
• Observe the electrical data speci󹪝ed on the certi󹪝cate and/or in section Technical data
(Page 49).
