REPAIR
Removing the Steer Cylinder
MOVING OBJECT HAZARD
Wear goggles while striking the
brass drift with a mallet.
NOTICE
When installing the removed hose and fitting, it must
be tightened according to the specified torque. See
Hydraulic Hose and Fitting Specifications, page
2-5.

1. Use a suitable supporting device to hold the steer
cylinder.
2. Disconnect and plug the hoses and fittings on the
steer cylinder, and tag the machine.
3. Remove the washer, bearing, cotter pin and pivot
pin #1 connecting the steer cylinder and the steer
linkage.
4. Remove the bolt, washer, keeper pin and pivot pin
#2 connecting the steer cylinder and the chassis.
5. Remove the steer cylinder.
Battery
NOTICE
Be sure to disconnect the battery charger and main
power from the machine before removing the battery.
1. Open the left door.
2. Label and disconnect the wires connected to the
battery.
3. Use the appropriate lifting equipment to remove the
battery.
