Overview

The P13 is a new energy vehicle detector designed and developed by Shenzhen Smartsafe Tech Co., Ltd., integrating a comprehensive suite of functions for vehicle diagnostics, battery analysis, immobilizer matching, ADAS calibration, and various reset procedures. This device is designed to be used in conjunction with other inspecting tools and detectors from Smartsafe Company, offering versatility across different vehicle service scenarios. It also serves as a platform for monitoring the usage and diagnostic status of all diagnostic devices within a vehicle service factory.

Function Description:

The P13 offers a wide range of diagnostic and maintenance functions:

  • Vehicle Diagnose: Primarily used for diagnosing vehicle electronic control systems. Users can employ "AutoDetect" for quick identification of vehicle information and system entry, or manually select the vehicle model and system for inspection. The system displays fault codes with red indicators and normal systems with green. It allows for viewing specific fault information, saving inspection reports (Pre-Repair, Post-Repair, Diagnostic Scan), comparing pre- and post-repair reports, viewing fault code analysis, and clearing fault codes.
  • Battery Diagnose: This module performs in-depth system diagnostics of the vehicle battery pack, helping users quickly identify abnormal conditions and points of failure. It requires protective equipment such as insulation gloves, shoes, and goggles due to the risk of electric shock. The device reads and displays detailed battery pack data, allowing users to determine abnormal statuses.
  • IMMO Matching: Enables anti-theft key matching, allowing the immobilizer control system to identify and authorize remote control keys. This is necessary when replacing the ignition switch key, ignition switch, combined instrument panel, ECU, BCM, or remote control battery.
  • ADAS Calibration: Calibrates driver assistance systems, including front-facing cameras for lane departure warning systems and radar sensors for Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC). Activation requires an activation card supplied with the ADAS calibration tool. The function supports both topological graph and list displays for ADAS systems, allowing users to scan, view fault codes, and perform diagnostic functions. It guides users in placing the calibration tool and manipulating ADAS calibration. After calibration, a full vehicle scan can be performed to confirm that fault codes have cleared.
  • Reset Functions: A quick entry for commonly used special functions, including:
    • 48V MHEV Test: For offline testing of 48V light hybrid parts.
    • Compressor Test: For testing after replacement and maintenance of vehicle compressors.
    • DCDC Test: For offline testing of DC conversion converters in new energy automobiles.
    • OBC Test: For offline testing of vehicle-mounted chargers.
    • Oil Reset Service: Resets the service lamp and turns off the tire pressure MIL.
    • A/F Reset: Sets or learns Air/Fuel ratio parameters.
    • Electronic Parking Brake Reset: Resets the brake pad after replacement (e.g., when brake pad wear sensor is replaced, brake pad indicator lamp is on, brake pad sensor circuit is short, or servo motor is replaced).
    • Steering Angle Calibration: Resets the steering angle after replacing steering angle position sensor, steering gearbox, or steering column end tie rod.
    • Battery Maintenance System Reset: Resets the monitoring unit of the vehicle battery, clearing low battery fault information and performing battery matching (e.g., when the main battery or battery monitoring sensor is replaced).
    • Throttle Learning: Makes initial settings to throttle actuators and returns learned values to default state (e.g., after ECU replacement, power-off, throttle assembly replacement, inlet replacement/disassembly, or throttle cleaning).
    • Tire Pressure Monitor System Reset: Looks up tire sensor IDs, resets tire pressure, and turns off the tire pressure MIL (e.g., when tire pressure is low, tire leaks, monitoring device is replaced, tire is replaced, or sensor is damaged).
    • Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) Regeneration: Clears PM from the DPF filter to stabilize performance (e.g., after sensor replacement, PM trap removal, fuel additive nozzle replacement, catalytic oxidizer replacement, or DPF regeneration MIL is on).
    • Transport Mode: Deactivates transport mode to restore vehicle functions (e.g., after limiting vehicle speed, disabling door opening network, or remote control key).
    • Tire Reset: Sets size parameters for modified or replaced tires.
    • Windows Calibration: Performs door window matching to recover ECU initial memory and automatic ascending/descending functions.
    • AdBlue Reset: Required after diesel exhaust treatment fluid (car urea) is replaced or filled up.
    • NOx Sensor Reset: Resets catalytic converter learned value stored in the engine ECU (e.g., if NOx fault is re-initialized or catalytic converter is replaced).
    • Injector Coding: Writes injector actual code or rewrites code in the ECU to control or correct cylinder injection quantity (e.g., after ECU or injector replacement).
    • Stop/Start Reset: Opens or closes the automatic start-stop function via hidden ECU settings.
    • Sunroof Initialization: Sets sunroof lock off, closed when it rains, sliding/tilting memory function, and temperature threshold.
    • Suspension Calibration: Adjusts body height (e.g., after replacing body height sensor or control module, or if vehicle height is incorrect).
    • Language Change: Changes the system language of the vehicle central control panel.
    • Intelligent Cruise Control System Diagnosis: For matching after the intelligent cruise control module is replaced or repaired.
    • AC System Relearn/Initialization: Performed when the vehicle AC ECU or actuator is replaced or ECU memory is lost.
    • Seats Calibration: Matches seats with memory function that are replaced and repaired.
    • AFS (Adaptive Front-lighting System) Reset: Initializes the adaptive headlamp system, adjusting lighting angle based on environmental light intensity, speed, and body posture.
    • EGR Learning: For learning after EGR valve cleaning or replacement.
    • ABS Exhaust: Exhausts the brake system to restore sensitivity (e.g., when ABS system contains air or components are replaced).
    • Airbag Reset: Resets airbag data and clears airbag fault indicator light (e.g., after collision, airbag indicator light is on, or components are replaced).
    • Meter Tuning: Copies, writes, or rewrites kilometers in the meter.
    • ECU Reset: Performs control unit reset function after partial system coding.
    • FRM Match: Resets the FRM control unit (BMW and MINI models), clearing faults related to short circuits.
    • Clutch Match: Performs gearbox self-learning for clutch pedal position or switch learning.
    • Gateway Module Data Calibration: For VIN inconsistency after replacing the gateway control unit.
    • Turbocharging Match: Learns after boost system parts replacement or resets turbocharger learning values.
    • Rain and Light Sensor: Adjusts wiper frequency and automatic headlight intensity based on ambient light.
  • Remote Diagnose: Allows remote technicians to assist users in diagnostic operations. Users can request remote help by selecting car models, inputting serial number, license plate, or phone number.
  • Super Remote: Helps remote technicians diagnose vehicles using Smartsafe, original factory, or other third-party diagnostic devices. The SmartLink Remote Diagnostics System allows service subscribers (SLC) to submit remote repair orders to service providers.
