3.6.3. Near-end Detector
(1) Format: Reflective Type Photo-sensor
(2) Width Direction Adjustment: Adjustable to any paper width between 45 mm to 82.5 mm.
(3) Cable Length: 870 ±15mm
Notes:
1. The near-end sensor unit cable should be long enough for combination with the other
optional parts. If you change the layout or use the optional parts. remove the cable band.
Also, be careful when removing the cable not to damage its insulating cover.
(4) Residual Paper Amount (For Reference):
The residual amount to detect is adjusted by moving the near-end sensor unit in the roll paper
diameter direction. See the following table regarding the roll paper that is detected by the near-end
sensor.

2. The printer unit is adjusted to the reference position ‘a’ when shipped from the factory.
3. Carefully check the operations using your layout and print media before use.
4. Residual paper amounts described in the table above are for reference when using the fol-
lowing types of roll paper. They are not warrantee values. Also, they may vary according
to the thickness of the paper you use.

5. If the detector is affected by external light distrubance, there are cases where a near-end
is detected before reaching the set detection diameter. Therefore, design the frame so that
the printer is unaffected by this light when this printer is used by being incorporated in a
frame designed by the end user.
