1. Disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet.
2. Disconnect the footswitch from the back of the unit by pulling on the collar of the footswitch
connector. Coil the footswitch cord to avoid kinking.
3. The outer surfaces of the gi4000, the footswitch and the GoCart Mobile Cart may be lightly
wiped with a soft cloth using a mild detergent.
4. It is recommended that the footswitch be thoroughly cleaned on a periodic basis to ensure
optimum performance. To manually clean the footswitch:
a. Soak the footswitch in enzymatic cleaner. To prepare the detergent, follow the
manufacturer’s instructions.
b. Completely submerge the footswitch into a basin of freshly prepared detergent for
no longer than 10 minutes.
c. Using a soft brush or non-abrasive cloth, clean the exterior surface of the
footswitch to remove visible debris. Brushes and / or clothes should be rinsed
periodically during the cleaning process.
d. The cord of the footswitch can be wiped with a non-abrasive cloth.
5. After cleaning the unit and accessories, allow all components to dry thoroughly before
connecting to a power source.
6. Once cleaned, the gi4000 and its accessories should be stored on a stable, horizontal
surface in an area where it will be safe from impact or other accidental damage. The
storage area should have temperature, humidity and pressure characteristics as described
in section 8.5 Technical Specifications: Environmental Transport and Storage
Parameters and be free of any risk of water leakage or splashes.
Storage
It is recommended that the gi4000 ESU be thoroughly checked by a qualified biomedical
engineer if it has been stored for longer than one (1) year.
Allow the gi4000 to remain at room temperature for at least three (3) hours if it has been stored
at extreme temperatures. Refer to section 8.5 Technical Specifications: Environmental
Transport and Storage Parameters for additional information on storing the gi4000 ESU and
accessories.
