10.3 Post-Procedural Shut Down
10.3.1 Disconnecting Accessories
1. At the end of the procedure, put the gi4000 in Standby Mode and remove all
accessories from the patient.
2. Once all accessories have been removed from the patient, exit Standby Mode.
3. Select Argon Method.
4. Check the amount of argon in the argon gas bottle.
Verify the status of the argon gas bottle icon on the touchscreen display.
If the argon bottle is red or flashing, vent the tank to empty and replace with
a new argon gas bottle. Reference 9.4.3 System Installation and Setup:
Replacing Empty Argon Gas Bottle for instructions for replacing the gas
bottle.
5. Turn the gi4000 off by pushing the power ON/OFF switch to the OFF position (the
“O” should be pressed inward, and the power LED should no longer be
illuminated).
6. Disconnect all instruments from the receptacles on the front panel of the gi4000,
including the irrigation tubing.
7. Dispose of accessories in accordance with manufacturer instructions.
8. Disconnect the footswitch connector from the footswitch receptacle. Loosely coil
the footswitch cable to avoid kinking and store.
9. Disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet by pulling on the plug. DO NOT
pull the power cord by the cable section. Loosely coil the power cord and secure
in the gi4000 accessory cord clip.
10.3.2 Care, Cleaning and Storage
Care and Cleaning
WARNING: Personal Injury and/or Equipment Damage Hazard. Be sure to read
and understand the instructions for use of all equipment before use.
WARNING: Personal Injury and/or Equipment Damage Hazard. The power
cord is used as a means of disconnection. The power cord MUST remain
accessible in case it becomes necessary to remove mains power from the gi4000
in an emergency situation. To safely remove mains power from the device,
disconnect the power cord from the wall mains power supply.
WARNING: Electrical Shock Hazard. Do not attempt to clean the gi4000 unless
power is turned OFF. Ensure that the power ON/OFF switch, is in the OFF position
(the “O” on the power ON/OFF switch should be pressed inward and the power
ON/OFF switch should not be illuminated) and the power cord is disconnected
from the gi4000 and the MAINS power supply BEFORE cleaning.
