N Grab the starter grip with your right
hand
N Pull the starter grip slowly until you
feel it engage and then give it a
brisk, strong pull
NOTICE
Do not pull out the starter rope
completely – risk of breakage!
N Do not let the starter grip snap back
– guide it slowly back into the
housing so that the starter rope can
rewind properly
N actuate until the engine starts!
Once the engine is running
At temperatures below +10 °C (+50 °F)
Allow the machine to warm up in
position g for at least 10 seconds.
At temperatures over +10 °C (+50 °F)
Allow the machine to warm up in
position g for approx. 5 seconds.
N Press the throttle trigger lockout and
accelerate – the warm start knob
jumps to the run position F
After a cold start, let the engine warm up
with a few load cycles.
WARNING
If the carburetor has been set correctly,
the cutting attachment should not rotate
when the engine is idling!
The machine is now ready for use.
Shutting down the engine
N Press stop switch – the engine
stops – release stop switch – the
stop switch returns to its original
position
Additional hints on starting
The engine stops in the cold start
position g.
N Press the throttle trigger lockout and
accelerate – the warm start knob
jumps to the run position F
N continue cranking in position F until
the engine runs
The engine that is running in the cold
start position g then stops while
accelerating.
N continue cranking in position for
cold start g until the engine runs
The engine does not start
N Check if all operating elements are
set correctly
N Check whether there is fuel in the
tank and refuel if necessary
N Check whether the spark plug boot
is connected securely
N Repeat the starting procedure
Flooded engine
N Set choke level to F – continue
cranking until the engine runs
If the tank has been drained completely
N After refueling, press the manual
fuel pump bulb at least five times –
even if it is full of fuel.
N Set knob for warm start depending
on engine temperature
N Motor erneut starten
