GEARSHIFT LINKAGE INSPECTION
GEARSHIFT SHAFT/GEARSHIFT ARM INSPECTION
Check the gearshift shaft/gearshift arm for bends or wear.
Check the return spring on the gearshift arm for damage or fa-
tigue.
If any defects are found, replace the defective part(-s).
OIL SEAL INSPECTION
Inspect the gearshift shaft oil seal’s lip for damage or wear.
If any defects are found, replace the oil seal with a new one.
OIL SEAL REPLACEMENT
• Remove the gearshift shaft oil seal from the lower crankcase.
• Install the new oil seal using the special tool.

The removed oil seal must be replaced with a new one.
NOTE:
Apply SUZUKI SUPER GREASE “A” onto the oil seal lip to pre-
vent oil seal damage when installing the lower crankcase.
