CHASSIS 5-55
Tighten each bolt to the specified torque.
" Brake caliper housing bolt 1:
30 N
.
m (3.0 kgf

m, 21.5 lb-ft)
Brake caliper mounting bolt 2:
25 N
.
m (2.5 kgf
.
m, 18.0 lb-ft)
Brake hose union bolt 3: 23 N
.
m (2.3 kgf
.
m, 16.5 lb-ft)
Rear torque link nut 4: 35 N
.
m (3.5 kgf
.
m, 25.5 lb-ft)
MASTER CYLINDER REMOVAL AND
DISASSEMBLY
Remove the side frame cover 1 (right side).
NOTE:
Before remounting the brake caliper, push the brake caliper
pistons all the way into the caliper.

Bleed air from the system after reassembling the brake
caliper. (

Remove the reservoir mounting bolt 2.
Place a rag underneath the brake hose union bolt on the
master cylinder to catch any spilt brake fluid. Remove the brake
hose union bolt 3 and disconnect the brake hose.
Loosen the locknut 4.
Remove the master cylinder along with the reservoir by
removing the mounting bolts 5 and push rod 6.

Immediately wipe off any brake fluid contacting any part
of the motorcycle. The brake fluid reacts chemically
with paint, plastics and rubber materials, etc., and will
damage them severely.
