CLUTCH DRIVEN PLATES
NOTE:
Wipe off any engine oil from the clutch driven plates using a
clean rag.
Measure each clutch driven plate for distortion using the thick-
ness gauge and surface plate.
If a clutch driven plate distortion exceeds the service limit,
replace the clutch plates as a set.

Service Limit: 0.1 mm
CLUTCH SPRING FREE LENGTH
Measure the free length of each clutch spring using vernier cali-
pers. If any spring is shorter than the service limit, replace all of
the springs.

Service Limit: 47.5 mm
CLUTCH RELEASE BEARING
Inspect the clutch release bearing for any abnormality, espe-
cially cracks. When removing the bearing from the clutch, decide
whether it can be reused or if it should be replaced.
Smooth engagement and disengagement of the clutch depends
on the condition of this bearing.
NOTE:
The thrust washer is located between the clutch pressure plate
and the clutch release bearing.
CLUTCH RELEASE ASSEMBLY
Before removing the clutch release assembly, operate the
clutch lever by hand to inspect it for a smooth movement and
any abnormal noise. If excessive resistance is felt, clean and
apply SUZUKI SUPER GREASE “A” to the clutch release
mechanism.
