STARTER CLUTCH
Install the starter driven gear onto the starter clutch and turn the
starter driven gear by hand (the gear turns in only one direc-
tion). The starter driven gear should turn smoothly. If excessive
resistance is felt while turning the starter driven gear, inspect
the starter clutch. Also, inspect the surface of the starter driven
gear which contacts the starter clutch, for wear or damage. If
any wear or damage is found, replace the defective part(-s).
DISASSEMBLY
• Hold the generator rotor with the rotor holder and remove the
starter clutch bolts.
% 09930-44530: Rotor holder
• Apply a small quantity of THREAD LOCK SUPER “1303” to
the starter clutch bolts and tighten them to the specified torque
while holding the rotor holder.

REASSEMBLY
• Assemble the starter clutch with its stamp mark facing out-
side.
