EMERGENCY PROCEDURES
Power Supply System Malfunction Checklist 3.5 l
Loss of alternator output can be detected by monitoring the ammeter
andthevoltmeterontheVM1000indicator.
Verify the “ALT” switch is on. Check the ALT FLD circuit breaker and
resetifrequired.
Attempt to reset the over voltage protection system of the alternator
regulator by turning “ALT” OFF and then ON. Check the ammeter
andvoltmeter.
If the alternator will not reset, turn OFF the ALT switch and reduce
the electrical load to a minimum. All electrical load is now being
supplied by the battery. Turn off all non-essential electrical
equipment.
Proceedtoward nearest airfield.
A power supply malfunction has no effect of the engine
operation.
NOTE:
Excessive Rate Of Charge Checklist 3.5 m
With a faulty alternator regulator an excessive rate of charge and an
overchargingofthebattery may occur.
Electricalequipmentmaybedamagedbyovervoltage.
If ammeter and voltmeter on the VM 1000 indicator indicates an
excessive rate of charge, turn OFF the Alternator by the switch ALT.
Turn off non-essential electrical equipment, to decreases the battery
discharge. In such case all electrical load is being supplied by the
battery. Terminateflightassoonaspractical.
