The Geniox GO is an air handling unit (AHU) designed for comfort ventilation, capable of transporting and treating air within a temperature range of -40 °C to +40 °C. These units are order-specific and available in various configurations, including sizes from Geniox GO 10 to Geniox GO 31. The AHUs are manufactured by Systemair UAB in Ukmergė, Lithuania, and comply with several directives, including the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, Ecodesign Directive 2009/125/EC, EMC Directive 2014/30/EU, Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU, Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EC, and RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU, 2015/863/EU.
Function Description
The Geniox GO units are equipped with an integrated control system, which can be managed via a NaviPad control panel. This panel, delivered with a 3-meter cable (extendable up to 100 meters), provides an interface for start-up, adjustments, and operation. The control system is configured according to customer orders to facilitate easy on-site start-up, with all functions tested and confirmed at the factory. The units are designed to operate fully automatically once started up and handed over by the installer.
The AHUs can be delivered either as a single assembled section or split into multiple sections for easier transportation and on-site assembly. For units delivered in sections, a base frame assembly is required, with options for 118 mm or 218 mm high base frames, and various lengths depending on the unit size. Outdoor units require a supporting frame provided by the installer to prevent tilting during storms.
Key components and functions include:
- Fans: Equipped with impellers for air movement.
- Heat Exchangers: Options include rotary heat exchangers, cross-flow, counter-flow, and run-around heat exchangers for energy recovery.
- Filters: Bag filters and panel filters are used for air purification, with specific sizes and quantities depending on the unit size.
- Heating/Cooling Coils: Batteries for hot water heating and chilled water cooling are available, with specific connection requirements to ensure frost protection and optimal performance.
- Dampers: Used for airflow control.
- Heat Pump Units: Optional reversible heat pump units for heating and cooling, delivered with a separate manual.
- Control System: Includes a controller (Systemair CU-27C or CU-40C), various sensors (temperature, pressure, CO2, humidity, motion), and actuators (valve motors).
- Rotor Speed Control: Managed by a NOVA drive 370 (or RHC 200 for older models) with DIP switches for signal selection and potentiometer for revolution adjustment.
Important Technical Specifications

- Modbus Communication: RS485 interface, 9600 baudrate, 8 data bits, no parity, 1 stop bit, default address 7.
- Condensate Water Trap: Minimum closing levels (H1/H2) vary with negative pressure (P): 100/40 mm for 500 Pa, 150/55 mm for 750 Pa, 190/70 mm for 1000 Pa. For positive pressure, 90/65 mm for 500 Pa, 120/90 mm for 750 Pa, 150/120 mm for 1000 Pa.
Usage Features
- Ease of Installation: Units can be delivered in sections or on a base frame, allowing for flexible handling methods (forklift, straps, hoist holes, base frame side holes).
- Modular Design: Sections are joined together using clamps and self-drilling screws, with internal rubber sealing to prevent air leakage.
- Door Alignment: Doors can be realigned on-site if they tilt during transportation.
- Lockable Doors: Doors are lockable with a key for safety and security.
- Control Panel: The NaviPad control panel provides an intuitive interface for monitoring and adjusting unit operation.
- Purge Function: For rotary heat exchangers, a purge function runs the motor at 10 RPM for 12 seconds after 30 minutes of inactivity to prevent rotor imbalance from accumulated dust.
- Brake Function: The rotor motor can be braked by shortening its windings, activated via DIP switch 4, for cleaning or maintenance.
Maintenance Features
- Annual Cleaning: The unit casing, drip trays, water traps, and grilles for air intake/exhaust should be cleaned annually.
- Filter Replacement: Filters must be replaced at least twice a year, or on demand by alarm, with new filters of the same characteristics to maintain SFP value. Self-adhesive foam strips are required on filter frames to prevent air leakage.
- Seal Inspection: Rubber seals on doors and between sections, as well as around inspection doors, should be checked annually for leakage and repaired if necessary.
- Component Checks: Motors, bearings, impellers, anti-vibration mounts, heat exchangers, dampers, and frost protection systems should be checked annually.
- Battery Replacement: The internal battery in the controller (CR2032) should be changed every 5 years or when an alarm indicates it's weak, requiring proper ESD protection.
- Lubrication: Closing mechanisms should be lubricated annually; synthetic door hinges are service-free.
- Heat Pump Unit Control: Mandatory annual control by certified technicians is required for units with heat pumps.
- Safety Measures: Maintenance staff must use personal protective equipment, including cut-resistant gloves, helmets, and particulate respirators. Lamps (if installed) must be switched on during maintenance. The main power switch must be turned to OFF position before maintenance.
- Rotor Belt Drive: Checked for correct tightness annually. Elastic belt drives do not require service, while V-belts with connectors may need shortening or replacement using specialist tools.
- Condensate Draining: Drip trays, water traps, and drainage outlets must be cleaned annually.
- Electrical Heating Battery: Safety thermostat and overheat thermostat must be checked for operational status.
