How to fix Teknatool Drill quill that cannot be retracted?

  If the quill of your Teknatool Drill cannot be retracted: 1. Carefully release the locking bolt of the return spring housing and hand tighten it by rotating it anti-clockwise. Lock the spring housing with the locking bolt before releasing. 2. Extend the quill as far as possible and apply a relatively high viscosity lubricant, moving the quill up and down to spread it. 3. Remove the handle spring and release the locking set screws to extract the handle from the headstock. Lubricate all contact surfaces before reassembling.

  To fix a Teknatool Drill tool that does not run true, the solution depends on where the run-out is detected. If it's inside the spindle, replace the entire spindle assembly. For a Morse taper tool/arbour, clean all contact surfaces and replace the tool if it still doesn't run true. If the chuck is the issue, replace it. If it's the attached tool, ensure it's properly mounted on the chuck. Always check the run-out from the spindle.
