Make an
unfused
Diagnostic Test
Page print
Cut about 3 inches off the
length of a piece of paper.
Place it in the MPT and
select the MPT as the
default tray. Request a
Diagnostic Test Page. The
printer will display a jam
message. Open the left
side door; use the blue
handles to pull out the
paper feeder. Being careful
not to get toner on
yourself, carefully slide the
paper out of the printer.
Slide the paper feeder back
into the printer and close
the door.
Has the print
quality problem
disappeared on the
unfused print?
Replace the
fuser
Clean or
replace the
main charge
grid
Reseat the
transfer kit and
make a normal
Diagnostic Test
Page print
Is the
Diagnostic Test
Page print quality
OK?
Is the
print quality
problem dark streaks
down the length of
the page?
Replace the
imaging unit
