Executing an instruction

Plotting a graph

Storing a value
When the TI

83 detects an error, it returns an error
message as a menu title, such as
ERR:SYNTAX
or
ERR:DOMAIN
. Appendix B describes each error type and
possible reasons for the error.
•
If you select
1:Quit (or press
y
[
QUIT
] or
‘
), then
the home screen is displayed.
•
If you select
2:Goto, then the previous screen is
displayed with the cursor at or near the error location.
Note
: If a syntax error occurs in the contents of a Y= function during
program execution, then the
Goto
option returns to the Y= editor, not
to the program.
To correct an error, follow these steps.
1. Note the error type (
ERR:
error type
).
2. Select
2:Goto, if it is available. The previous screen is
displayed with the cursor at or near the error location.
3. Determine the error. If you cannot recognize the error,
refer to Appendix B.
4. Correct the expression.
