–Thedisplaydevicedriverisinstalledcorrectly.
–Thescreenresolutionandcolorqualityarecorrectlyset.
–Themonitortypeiscorrect.
Tocheckthesesettings,dothefollowing:
1.Right-clickanywhereonthedesktop,andclickScreenresolution.
2.ClickAdvancedSettings.
3.ClicktheAdaptertabtoensurethatthecorrectdevicedrivernameisshownintheAdapter
Informationwindow.ThenclickthePropertiesbutton.Ifyouarepromptedforanadministrator
passwordorconfirmation,typethepasswordorprovideconfirmation.ChecktheDevicestatusbox
andmakesurethatthedeviceisworkingcorrectly.Ifthedeviceisnotworkingcorrectly,clickthe
Troubleshootbuttonandfollowtheinstructionsonthescreen.
Note:Thedevicedrivernamedependsonthevideochipthathasbeeninstalledonyourcomputer.
4.ClicktheMonitortabtoensurethatthecorrectmonitortypeisshownintheMonitorTypewindow.
ThenclickthePropertiesbutton.Ifyouarepromptedforanadministratorpasswordorconfirmation,
typethepasswordorprovideconfirmation.ChecktheDevicestatusboxandmakesurethatthe
deviceisworkingcorrectly.Ifthedeviceisnotworkingcorrectly,clicktheTroubleshootbuttonand
followtheinstructionsonthescreen.

5.ClicktheColourManagementtab,andthenclicktheColourManagementbutton.Inthedisplayed
ColourManagementwindow,clicktheAdvancedtabandensurethatthesettingsintheWindows
ColourSystemDefaultsareaaresetasdesired.Ifyouarepromptedforanadministratorpassword
orconfirmation,typethepasswordorprovideconfirmation.
•Problem:Incorrectcharactersaredisplayedonthescreen.
Solution:Didyouinstalltheoperatingsystemorapplicationprogramcorrectly?Iftheyareinstalledand
configuredcorrectly,havethecomputerserviced.
•Problem:Thescreenstaysonevenafteryouturnoffyourcomputer.
Solution:Pressandholdthepowerbuttonforfoursecondsormoretoturnoffyourcomputer;then
turnitonagain.
•Problem:Missing,discolored,orbrightdotsappearonthescreeneverytimeyouturnonyourcomputer.
Solution:ThisisanintrinsiccharacteristicoftheTFTtechnology.Yourcomputerdisplaycontains
multiplethin-filmtransistors(TFTs).Asmallnumberofmissing,discolored,orbrightdotsonthescreen
mightexistallthetime.
Externalmonitorproblems
•Problem:Theexternalmonitorisblank.
Solution:Tobringuptheimage,pressF7andselectthedesiredmonitor.Iftheproblempersists,do
thefollowing:
1.Connecttheexternalmonitortoanothercomputertoensurethatitworks.
2.Reconnecttheexternalmonitortoyourcomputer.
3.Refertothemanualshippedwiththeexternalmonitortochecktheresolutionsandrefreshratesthat
aresupported.
–Iftheexternalmonitorsupportsthesameresolutionasthecomputerdisplayorahigherresolution,
viewoutputontheexternalmonitororonboththeexternalmonitorandthecomputerdisplay.
