Tocheckthesesettings,dothefollowing:
1.Right-clickonthedesktop,andclickPersonalize.
2.ClickDisplayattheleft.
3.SelectChangedisplaysettings.Checkwhetherthescreenresolutioniscorrectlyset.
4.ClickAdvancedSettings.
5.ClicktheAdaptertab.
6.Makesurethatthecorrectdevicedrivernameisshownintheadapterinformationwindow.
Note:Thedevicedrivernamedependsonthevideochipthathasbeeninstalledonyourcomputer.
7.ClickthePropertiesbutton.Ifyouarepromptedforanadministratorpasswordorconrmation,type
thepasswordorprovideconrmation.ChecktheDevicestatusboxandmakesurethatthedeviceis
workingcorrectly.Ifnot,clicktheTroubleshootbuttonandfollowtheinstructionsonthescreen.
8.ClicktheMonitortab.Checkwhetherthecolorqualityiscorrectlyset,andmakesurethattheother
informationalsoiscorrect.
9.ClickthePropertiesbutton.Ifyouarepromptedforanadministratorpasswordorconrmation,type
thepasswordorprovideconrmation.ChecktheDevicestatusboxandmakesurethatthedeviceis
workingcorrectly.Ifnot,clicktheTroubleshootbuttonandfollowtheinstructionsonthescreen.
Problem:Incorrectcharactersaredisplayedonthescreen.
Solution:Didyouinstalltheoperatingsystemorapplicationprogramcorrectly?Iftheyareinstalledand
conguredcorrectly,havethecomputerserviced.
Problem:Thescreenstaysonevenafteryouturnoffyourcomputer.
Solution:Pressandholdthepowerswitchforfoursecondsormoretoturnoffyourcomputer;thenturn
itonagain.
Problem:Missing,discolored,orbrightdotsappearonthescreeneverytimeyouturnonyourcomputer.
Solution:ThisisanintrinsiccharacteristicoftheTFTtechnology.Yourcomputerdisplaycontainsmultiple
thin-lmtransistors(TFTs).Asmallnumberofmissing,discolored,orbrightdotsonthescreenmight
existallthetime.
Externalmonitorproblems
Problem:Theexternalmonitorisblank.
Solution:Tobringuptheimage,pressFn+F7andselectthedesiredmonitor.Iftheproblempersists,
dothefollowing:
1.Connecttheexternalmonitortoanothercomputertomakesurethatitworks.
2.Reconnecttheexternalmonitortoyourcomputer.
3.Refertothemanualshippedwiththeexternalmonitortochecktheresolutionsandrefreshratesthatare
supported.
•Iftheexternalmonitorsupportsthesameresolutionasthecomputerdisplayorahigherresolution,
viewoutputontheexternalmonitororonboththeexternalmonitorandthecomputerdisplay.
