a.Whenawindowfortypingthenewuserharddiskpasswordopens,typeyournewpassword
intheEnterNewPasswordeld.
b.PressEnteroncetomovetothenextline.Retypethepasswordyoujustenteredtoverifyit.
c.Amessagewindowopensandpromptsyoutosetthemasterharddiskpassword.ClickContinue.
d.Awindowfortypingthenewmasterharddiskpasswordopens.Typeyournewpasswordinthe
EnterNewPasswordeld.
e.PressEnteroncetomovetothenextline.Retypethepasswordyoujustenteredtoverifyit.
•IfyouselectUseronly,dothefollowing:
a.Whenawindowfortypingthenewpasswordopens,typeyournewpasswordintheEnterNew
Passwordeld.
Notes:
–YoucansettheminimumlengthofaharddiskpasswordthroughtheSecuritymenu.
–Ifyousetaharddiskpasswordofoversevencharacters,theharddiskdrivecanbeusedonly
withacomputerthatcanrecognizeaharddiskpasswordofoversevencharacters.Ifyouthen
installtheharddiskdriveinacomputerthatcannotrecognizeaharddiskpasswordthat
containsmorethansevencharacters,youcannotgetaccesstothedrive.
b.PressEnteroncetomovetothenextline.Retypethepasswordyoujustenteredtoverifyit.
9.Commitanypasswordtomemory.
Attention:Youmightwanttonotedownyourpasswordsandkeeptheminasafeplace.Otherwise,if
youforgettheuserpassword,orbothuserandmasterpasswords,Lenovocannotresetyourpasswords
orrecoverdatafromtheharddiskdrive.YoumusttakeyourcomputertoaLenovoresellerora
marketingrepresentativetohavetheharddiskdrivereplaced.Proofofpurchaseisrequired,andafee
willbechargedforpartsandservice.
10.PressF10toexit.IntheSetupNoticewindow,selectYes.
Thenexttimeyouturnonyourcomputer,youwillhavetotypetheuserormasterharddiskpasswordin
ordertostartyourcomputerandgetaccesstoyouroperatingsystem.
