9.1 Flail mower
The machine can be equipped with a hydraulic flail
mower which is fastened to the tool frame.
Before driving, check the clearance of the pivoting flail
joint. Especially during the first 50 hours of operation,
it is necessary to frequently tighten the joint in order to
remove this clearance.
It is important that the nut only be tightened to the point
at which the head can still easily rotate. Do not forget to
tighten the locknut after that.
9.1.1 Driving with the flail mover
The mower must never be in the float position during work. This is partly in order to achieve the
best possible mowing results, but also to protect the operator from ejected objects in front of the
mower head. When driving in tall and dense vegetation (above 50 cm), it may be beneficial to open
the front flap of the mower and thus increase the height of the feed.
Important: When driving in low vegetation, the flap must always be all the way down, because
there is a high risk that the pieces ejected in front of the mower will injure the operator or other
people.
If the mower starts to vibrate or rattle, you must stop immediately and check the reason for this. The
noise can be caused by one of the following parts:
- damaged or missing flail,
- wire, plastic, metal or other material wrapped around the flail pole,
- defective bearings.
Warning: Always keep a safe distance of 12 m from the machine.
