4.3 Replacing the Blade
DANGER! Always disengage the blade and shut off the sawmill
motor/engine before changing the blade. Disconnect power supply
using the main switch. Failure to do so will result in serious injury.
WARNING! Always wear gloves and eye protection when handling
bandsaw blades. Keep all other persons away from area when coiling,
uncoiling, carrying or changing a blade. Changing blades is safest
when done by one person! Failure to do so may result in serious injury.
Turn the blade tensioner screw to decrease the blade tension until the blade is lying loose in the
blade housing. Lift the blade out of the blade housing.
Install a new blade on the blade wheels so it is lying loose around the wheels. When installing the
blade, make sure the teeth are pointing the correct direction. Track the blade properly on the wheels
as described further in this section.
