4.21 Gas Engine Operation (G9, G14)
WARNING! Do not start the engine if the drive belt tensioner handle is
ENGAGED. Always be sure the blade is disengaged and all persons
are out of the path of the blade before starting the engine.
IMPORTANT! Read the engine manual for instructions and safety
precautions before operating the engine.
1. Clear any loose objects from the area of the blade, engine, and drive belt.
2. Make sure the clamp and side supports are positioned low enough for the blade to pass over them.
Make sure the log is clamped securely.
See Figure 4-22.
CAUTION! If at any time you need to immediately stop the blade
engine, press the emergency stop button located on the operator’s
handle.
3. Open the fuel supply valve and turn on the ignition by moving the ignition/fuel lever to position “ON”.
