Note:Althoughnotneededfornormalmaintenance
procedures,thefrontmowerdeckcanbepivoted(tilted)to
anuprightposition.Shouldyoudesiretotiltthemowerdeck,
proceedasfollows:
1.Raisethefrontmowerdeckslightlyofftheoor,set
theparkingbrake,shutofftheengine,andremovethe
ignitionkey.
2.Removethehairpincotterandclevispinsecuringthe
deck-transportlatchtothelatchplateandpivotthe
latchtowardtherearofthedeck.
3.Removethehairpincotterandclevispinsecuringthe
height-of-cutchainstotherearofthemowerdeck.
4.Starttheengine,slowlyraisethefrontmowerdeck,
shutofftheengine,andremovetheignitionkey.
5.Graspthefrontofthemowerdeckandliftittoan
uprightposition.
6.Holdthemowerdeckupright,tthecableendover
thepinonthemowerdeckliftarm,andsecureitwith
thehairpincotter(Figure76).

1.Withthehelpofanotherperson,holdthemowerdeck
upright,removethehairpincottersecuringthecable
end,andremovethecablefromthepin.
2.Pivot(tilt)themowerdeckdownward.
3.Storethecableundertheoperator'splatform.
4.Sitontheseat,starttheengine,andlowerthemower
deckuntilitisslightlyofftheoor.
5.Securetheheight-of-cutchainstotherearofthe
mowerdeck.
6.Pivotthetransportlatchupwardintopositionand
secureitwiththeclevispinandcotterpin.
AdjustingtheMower-Deck
Pitch
MeasuringtheMower-DeckPitch
Mower-deckpitchisthedifferenceinheightofcutfromthe
frontofthebladeplanetothebackofthebladeplane.Usea
bladepitchof8to11mm(5/16to7/16inch).Thatisthe
backofthebladeplaneis8to11mm(5/16to7/16inch)
higherthanthefront.
1.Positionthemachineonalevelsurfaceontheshop
oor.
2.Setthemowerdecktothedesiredheightofcut.
3.Rotateabladetopointstraightforward.
4.Usingashortruler,measurefromtheoortothefront
tipoftheblade.
5.Rotatethebladetiptotherearandmeasurefromthe
oortothetipoftheblade.
6.Subtractthefrontdimensionfromthereardimension
tocalculatethebladepitch.
AdjustingtheFrontMower-DeckPitch
1.Loosenthejamnutsatthetoporbottomofthe
height-of-cutchainU-bolt(Figure77).
2.Adjusttheothersetofnutstoraiseorlowertherear
ofthemowerdeckandattainthecorrectmower-deck
pitch.
3.Tightenthejamnuts.
