StoppingtheEngine
Important:Allowtheenginetoidlefor5minutesbefore
shuttingitoffafterafull-loadoperation.Thisallowsthe
turbochargertocooldownbeforeshuttingtheengine
off.Failuretodosomayleadtoturbochargertrouble.
Note:Lowerthemowerdeckstothegroundwheneveryou
parkthemachine.Thisrelievesthehydraulicloadfromthe
system,preventswearonsystemparts,andalsoprevents
accidentalloweringofthemowerdecks.
1.MovethePTOswitchtotheOFFposition.
2.Settheparkingbrake.
3.Movetheengine-speedswitchtotheLOWIDLE
position.
4.RotatetheignitionkeytotheOFFposition.
5.Removethekeyfromtheswitchtopreventaccidental
starting.
UnderstandingSmartPower™
Traction
WithToroSmartPower™traction,theoperatordoesnot
havetolistentotheenginespeedinheavyconditions.Smart
Powerpreventsboggingdowninheavyturfbyautomatically
controllingthemachinespeedandoptimizingcutting
performance.Theoperatorcansimplysetamaxground
speed,thatiscomfortable,andmowwithouthavingto
manuallyreducethetractionspeedwhenmowinginheavy
conditions.
ReversingFanOperation
Thefanspeediscontrolledbythehydraulic-oiltemperature
andengine-coolanttemperature.Areversecycleis
automaticallyinitiatedwheneithertheenginecoolantor
hydraulic-oiltemperaturereachesacertainpoint.This
reversalhelpsblowdebrisofftherearscreenandlowerthe
engineandhydraulic-oiltemperatures.Bysimultaneously
pressingtherightandleftbuttonsontheInfoCenter,the
fanwillcompleteamanually-initiatedreversecycle.Itis
recommendedtomanuallyreversethefanpriortoleavingthe
workarea,enteringtheshop,orstoragearea.
UnderstandingAutoIdle
Themachineisequippedwithautoidle,whichautomatically
idlestheenginewhenallofthefollowingfunctionsare
notused,forapre-determinedtime,previouslysetinthe
InfoCenter.
ThetractionpedalisreturnedtotheNEUTRALposition.
ThePTOisdisengaged.
Noneoftheliftswitchesareactivated.
Whenanyoftheabovefunctionsareinitiated,the
machinewillautomaticallyreturntothepreviousthrottle
position.
UsingCruiseControl
Thecruise-controlswitchlocksinthepedalpositionto
maintainthedesiredgroundspeed.Pressingtherearofthe
switchturnscruisecontroloff,themiddlepositionofthe
switchenablesthecruise-controlfunction,andthefrontof
theswitchsetsthedesiredgroundspeed.
Note:Pressingeitherthebrakepedalormovingthetraction
pedalintothereverseposition,for1second,willalso
disengagethecruisecontrol.
UsingtheEngine-Speed
Switch
Theenginespeedswitchhas2modestochangetheengine
speed.Bymomentarilytappingtheswitch,theenginespeed
canbeincreasedordecreasedin100-rpmincrements.By
holdingtheswitchdown,theenginewillautomaticallymove
toHIGHorLOWIDLE,dependingonwhichsideofthe
switchyoupress.
AdjustingtheMowingSpeed
Supervisor(ProtectedMenu)
Allowsthesupervisortosetthemaximummowingspeed,
inincrementsof50%,75%or100%,atwhichtheoperator
canmow(lowrange).
RefertoUsingtheInfoCenterControl(page15)forthe
proceduretosetthemowspeed.
Operator
Allowstheoperatortoadjustthemaximummowingspeed
(lowrange),withinthesupervisorspre-adjustedsettings.
WhenintheInfoCentersplashormainscreen,pressthe
middlebutton(
icon)toadjustthespeed.
Note:Whenswitchingbetweenlowandhighranges,the
settingswilltransferbasedontheprevioussetting.The
settingsareresetwhenthemachineisturnedoff.
Note:Thisfeaturemayalsobeusedinconjunctionwith
cruisecontrol.
