StoppingtheEngine
1.DisengagethePTO,movethemotion-control
leverstotheNEUTRAL-LOCKEDposition,setthe
parkingbrake,andmovethethrottlelevertothe
SLOWposition.
2.TurntheignitionkeytotheOFFposition(Figure
17).Waitforallmovingpartstostopbefore
leavingtheoperatingposition.
3.Removethekeybeforetransportingorstoring
themachine.
Important:Makesuretoremovethekeyas
thefuelpumporaccessoriesmayrunand
causethebatterytolosecharge.
CAUTION
Childrenorbystandersmaybeinjured
iftheymoveorattempttooperatethe
tractorwhileitisunattended.
Alwaysremovetheignitionkeyand
settheparkingbrakewhenleavingthe
machineunattended,evenifjustfora
fewminutes.
DrivingtheMachine
Thethrottlecontrolregulatestheenginespeedas
measuredinrpm(revolutionsperminute).Place
thethrottlecontrolintheFASTpositionforbest
performance.AlwaysoperateintheFASTthrottle
positionwhenmowing.
CAUTION
Themachinecanturnveryrapidly.Youmay
losecontrolofitandcausepersonalinjuryor
damagetomachine.
•Usecautionwhenmakingturns.
•Slowthemachinedownbeforemaking
sharpturns.
1.Releasetheparkingbrake;refertoReleasing
theParkingBrake(page24).
Note:Theenginestopsifyoumovethe
traction-controlleverswiththeparkingbrake
engaged.
2.Movetheleverstothecenter,unlockedposition.
3.Drivethemachineasfollows:
•Todrivestraightforward,slowlypushthe
motion-controlleversforward(Figure18).
•Todrivestraightbackward,slowlypullthe
motion-controlleversrearward(Figure18).
•Toturn,slowthemachinebypullingbackon
bothleversandthenpushforwardonthe
leverontheoppositesidefromwhichyou
wanttoturn(Figure18).
•Tostop,pullthemotion-controlleverstothe
NEUTRALposition.
Note:Thefartheryoumovethetraction-control
leversineitherdirection,thefasterthemachine
movesinthatdirection.
