Alwaysdisconnectthenegative(black)
batterycablebeforedisconnectingthe
positive(red)cable.
Alwaysconnectthepositive(red)battery
cablebeforeconnectingthenegative
(black)cable.
StoringtheBattery
Ifyouarestoringthemachinemorethan30days,
removethebatteryandchargeitfully.Eitherstore
itonashelforonthemachine.Leavethecables
disconnectedifyouarestoringthebatteryonthe
machine.Storethebatteryinacoolenvironment
topreventthebatteryfromdischargingrapidly.To
preventthebatteryfromfreezing,makesurethatitis
fullycharged.Thespecicgravityofafullycharged
batteryis1.265to1.299.
CheckingtheFuses
Thefusesarelocatedunderthecontrolpanel.Access
themthroughthesidepanelcover(Figure71).To
openthesidepanelcover,releasethe2latchesand
pulloutonit.
Ifthemachinestopsorhasotherelectricalsystem
issues,checkthefuses.Graspeachfuseinturnand
removethem1atatime,checkingtoseeifanyare
blown.
Important:Ifyouneedtoreplaceafuse,always
usethesametypeandamperageratedfuseas
theoneyouarereplacing,otherwiseyoucould
damagetheelectricalsystem.Refertothedecal
nexttothefusesforadiagramofeachfuseand
itsamperage(Figure72).
Note:Ifafuseblowsfrequently,youprobablyhave
ashortintheelectricalsystemandshouldhaveit
servicedbyaqualiedservicetechnician.
