CAUTION
Ifthesafety-interlockswitchesare
disconnectedordamagedthemachinecould
operateunexpectedlycausingpersonalinjury.
•Donottamperwiththeinterlockswitches.
•Checktheoperationoftheinterlock
switchesdailyandreplaceanydamaged
switchesbeforeoperatingthemachine.
Understandingthe
Safety-InterlockSystem
Thesafety-interlocksystemisdesignedtopreventthe
enginefromstartingunless:
•Youaresittingontheseatortheparkingbrake
isengaged.
•Thepowertake-off(PTO)isdisengaged.
•Themotion-controlleversareinthe
NEUTRAL-LOCKEDposition
•Theenginetemperatureisbelowthemaximum
operatingtemperature.
Thesafety-interlocksystemalsoisdesignedtostop
theenginewhenthetractioncontrolsaremovedfrom
theNEUTRAL-LOCKEDpositionwiththeparkingbrake
engaged.IfyourisefromtheseatwhenthePTOis
engaged,thereisa1-seconddelaybeforetheengine
stops.
TestingtheSafety-Interlock
System
ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily
Testthesafety-interlocksystembeforeyouusethe
machineeachtime.Ifthesafetysystemdoesnot
operateasdescribedbelow,haveanAuthorized
ServiceDealerrepairthesafetysystemimmediately.
1.Sitontheseat,engagetheparkingbrake,move
thePTOtoOn,andtrystartingtheengine.
Note:Theengineshouldnotcrank.
2.Sitontheseat,engagetheparkingbrake,move
thePTOtoOff,moveeithermotion-controllever
outoftheNEUTRAL-LOCKEDposition,andtry
startingtheengine.
Note:Theengineshouldnotcrank.Repeatfor
theothercontrollever.
3.Sitontheseat,engagetheparkingbrake,move
thePTOswitchtoOff,movethemotion-control
leverstotheNEUTRAL-LOCKEDposition,andstart
theengine.Whiletheengineisrunning,release
theparkingbrake,engagethePTOandrise
slightlyfromtheseat.
Note:Theengineshouldstopwithin2seconds.
4.Withoutanoperatorontheseat,engagethe
parkingbrake,movethePTOswitchtoOff,move
themotion-controlleverstotheNEUTRAL-LOCKED
position,andstarttheengine.Whiletheengine
isrunning,centereithermotion-controllever.
Note:Theengineshouldstopwithin2seconds.
Repeatfortheothermotion-controllever.
5.Withoutanoperatorontheseat,disengage
theparkingbrake,movethePTOswitchto
Off,movethemotion-controlleverstothe
NEUTRAL-LOCKEDposition,andtrystartingthe
engine.
Note:Theengineshouldnotcrank.
