Pre-llingthepressure-sidefuellter
without the use of
a side block-of f plug canallowdebristoenterthefuel
systemanddamagefuelsystemcomponents.
Important:Ifpossible,pre-llnewprimary-and
secondary-fuellterswithcleanfuelpriortoassembly
usingthecleansideblock-offplugpackedwiththelter.
Donotpourfueldirectlyintothecenterofthelter,
becausethiswillallowunlteredfueltoenterthesystem
andmaydamagethefuelsystemcomponents.
Note:Youmustprimethesystemafteryouinstallthefuel
lters.
1.Wipecleanthesealingsurfacesofthelteradapters
fortheprimary-andsecondary-fuellters(Figure74
andFigure75).
2.Lubricatethesealsforthefuellterswithcleanengine
oil.
3.Installtheprimary-fuellterontothelteradapter,
andtightenthelteruntilthegasketcontactsthelter
headsurface(Figure74).
4.Tightenthefuellteranadditional3/4turnafter
contact.
Important:Donotovertightenthefuellter.
5.Connectthewiringharnesstothewater-in-fuelsensor.
6.Installthesecondary-fuellterontothelteradapter,
andtightenthelteruntilthegasketcontactsthelter
headsurface(Figure75).
7.Tightenthefuellteranadditional3/4turnafter
contact.
Important:Donotovertightenthefuellter.
8.Bleedtheairfromthefuelsystembyprimingthe
system;refertoPrimingtheFuelSystem(page52).

Thefuelsystemisunderhighpressure.Bleeding
thesystemwithoutproperprecautionsandtraining
couldresultininjurytoyoufrominjecteduidor
reorexplosion.
•Donotloosenanyttingswhiletheengineis
running.
•Readtheengineowner’smanualfortheproper
bleedingprocedureorcontactyourAuthorized
ToroServiceDealer.
Primethefuelsystemtoremoveairfromthesystemafterthe
followingevents:
•Theenginehasrununtilthefueltankisempty.
•Thefuelltersarereplaced.
•Partsofthefuelsystemareremovedforrepair.
1.Ensurethatthereisfuelinthefueltank.
