thebreathercounterclockwise(Figure73).

ReplacingtheFuelFilters
ServiceInterval:Every500hours
Theengineonthismachineusesadualfuel-ltersystem,with
aprimaryfuellterandasecondaryfuellter.Theprimary
fuellterincludesafuel-waterseparator;itisnotpressurized
butoperatesunderavacuum.Thesecondaryfuellterisfor
ltrationonlyandispressurizedbythefuelpump.
RemovingthePrimaryandSecondaryFuelFilters
Important:Cleanallaroundthelterareabefore
disassemblingthefuelltersystem.Dirtor
contaminantscandamagethefuelsystem.
1.RotatethebatterydisconnectswitchtotheOff
position;refertoBattery-DisconnectSwitch(page21).
2.Removetherightsidepanel;refertoRemovingthe
SidePanels(page45).
3.Cleantheareaaroundtheprimaryandsecondaryfuel
lters.
4.Disconnectthewiringharnessfromthewater-in-fuel
sensor.
Note:Thewater-in-fuelsensorislocatedatthe
bottomofthefuel/waterseparator,nexttothedrain
valve.
5.Placeasmall-draincontainerunderthedrainvalveof
thefuelwaterseparator;refertoDrainingWaterfrom
theFuel-WaterSeparator(page24).
Note:Theprimaryfuellterisacomponentofthe
fuel/waterseparator.
6.Openthedrainvalveandallowthefuel-waterseparator
todraincompletely;refertoDrainingWaterfromthe
Fuel-WaterSeparator(page24).
7.Loosenandremovetheprimaryfuellter(Figure74).
Note:Ifnecessary,usealterwrenchtoloosenthe
fuellter.
