discardthelter(Figure97).
4.Wipecleantheoillteradapterattheseatingsurface
forthelter.
5.ApplyathinlayerofcleangreaseoroilontotheO-ring
ofthenewlter.
6.Installthenewlterbyhandandtightthelter1/2
to3/4turnafteritmakescontactwiththelterhead
(Figure97).
Important:Donotusealterstrapwrenchto
tightenthelter.Astrapwrenchcandentthe
lter,causingittoleak.
7.Starttheengineandrunitatidlefor1minute,and
checkforleaks.
8.Stoptheengineandremovethekey.
9.Checkthetransmissionoillevel;ifthelevelislow ,add
oil;refertoCheckingtheOilLevelintheTransmission
(page62).
Important:Whenyoullthetransmissionwith
oil,slowlyaddtheoilintothetransmissionto
avoidentrainingairwiththeoil.
